If you only knew...

If you only knew, how I really felt,
how much I've tried to reach out to you,
to be there for you.
If you only bothered to stop and listen,
then maybe, just maybe, you'd get a different view,
instead of the one you've imposed upon me.

If you only took the time to get to know me,
to see what's behind the exterior,
then maybe, just maybe, you'd find the real story,
as opposed to the one you've created.

If you let go of the judgments,
released your expectations of me,
looked past the walls you've created,
your own jealousy and envy,
you might find we're not so different.

If only you were aware of how many times
I've sought your approval,
your help, your guidance,
then maybe we'd be in a different place
than where we are.

Monday in May

Peaceful morning, my sweet sleepy head is still in bed. Expectations surpassed. Who knew there'd be so much tender bliss?

Enjoying life, be back eventually...

Dealing with things, one baby step at a time. Going with the flow. Snuggling into quietness where I can, keeping to the priorities of life, and healing what needs to be healed.

Letting go... embracing the important aspects, living in the moment, loving and enjoying my family.

Quietness, on most ends, who knows for how long?

No more stasis, life has been happening. Fall is on its way. You can hear it in the afternoon symphonies, feel it in the change in the air, and see it in the movement of the sun. Ah... what bliss.

Seasons are shifting, things are moving, and I'm in blissful love with my adoring hub and daughter. I'm reconnecting to my spirit, to God, to that sacred divinity within and around us.

Take time out to notice the shift. Bask in your senses. Indulge in lovin' friends, family, and Spirit, bask in their love and your own. Have a love fest. ;) Find something to read on a spiritual level, and take it in.

The poet Lu Yu wrote:

The clouds above us join and seperate,
The breeze in the courtyard leaves and returns.
Life is like that, so why not relax?
Who can stop us from celebrating?

(From the Tao of Pooh, by Benjamin Hoff. The Te of Piglet is pretty cool too.)

Summer's Sweet Solace

Sweet evening sunset in the summer's sensuous sky, I am humbled by your offer of soft serenity. My body, wearied from summer's playground and the intense joy of the three-year-old who holds my heart combined with fresh air, beckons me to comfort it with smooth cotton sheets. My head begs to be resting on a pillow of feathery solace. Who am I to differ?

Work is done. The sun is setting.

Tomorrow, a new day dawns, with not so much excitement as a park on a day of sunny bliss, but excitement enough.

For you see, somehow, somewhere, I've fallen in love. With my three-year-old blessing, who offers sweet kisses, baby blue-eyed blinks, and tender cuddles. With my fabulous husband, who chips in to shovel mulch or help clean up paint chips when my painting job to help him out went awry, and coddles me with cuddles and soft kisses when I need them. But most of all, lately, I've rediscovered and fallen head over heals with life itself.

Dancing to the rhythms, wearing glasses with rosey hues, I sing to the stars and walk, barefoot, upon dewy grass. Laundry, dusting, vacuuming... have become tender Buddhist meditations as I honor my home with cleanliness, fondly remember each spot I tenderly touch and wipe.

Is this bliss? Is this enlightenment? Who the hell cares? It matters not, cause it feels damn fine.

Week's Prose

Sweet silence of morning, dappled with bird calls. Blessed with a clear head, my work completed swiftly and with focus (this morning at least), blogs and other addictive material avoided.

I sit here, calm, caught up, Pookie sleeping soundly still. There's a stillness, even as my fingers dance upon the clicking keys.

Snow has fallen, leaving a powdered-sugary coating upon the ground and houses. Cars are warming up, the steam blending up and into the environment.

It's been an interesting week. Tuesday was a full moon, and the way the day worked out, just seemed as though I was meant to be there for someone grienving so much in her life - dead father and best friend. One she feels taken too soon, the other a long cancerous process. She just turned 28 - that age when the universal cosmos comes together to check on your and see where you are on your life path - not always pleasant for some, and virtually clear sailing for others. Yet, there always seems to be something.

Hubby's been tired and not sleeping well, though he's been handling the grumpiness and sniffles quite well. Although I suspect he'll be crashing this weekend into the soft bed that brings him comfort, and downing the NyQuil that brings him relief. At least he'll be home early today.

This morning pook lays sleeping in bed, curled amongst pillows, her body cuddled within the covers that she kicks off in sleep. She is a precious jewel, warm and fragile, as I tenderly kiss her blushed cheek. I adore this soft being, cringing as she coughs in sleep. But, to the doctor today, to make sure it's nothing serious.

And so I sit here, typing, filling my body with water, as my liver's not been too happy with the continual chocolate and comfort foods I've been eating as though it were my only thread to freedom of the stress I've been not dealing with in regards to having to work this weekend. Though this morning, I feel as though I can cut down on the intake of it at least. At least I don't drink. :)

And so sweet Friday is hear, with Shamrocks and green galore, and snowy fervor. Though part Irish, I'm not one to celebrate this holiday, although as a child corned beef and cabbage was ingested this day. But not today. Nope, tonight it will be Italian lasagne shared with our small family and a visiting friend.

Here's hoping for a peaceful and rejuvenating weekend to all, I know it's much needed after this last weekend for us.
